Dholi (Rana) community of Rajasthani Folk Dance & Music claims to be the long descendants of the famous poet Chand Bardai, the court poet of the Indian king Prithviraj III Chauhan, who ruled Ajmer and Delhi from 1165 to 1192. Dholi (Rana) community for generations has served the royal houses before and after Independence by singing various compositions in praise of their local Gods, Rulers, Battles they fought and their worth notable deeds. They use to entertain, the rulers and their courts’ men after returning from battle or any expedition.
